Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation, also known as augmentation mammoplasty, is a surgical procedure performed to increase the size of small breasts using silicone implants, also known as prostheses, or fat injection.

While the primary function of breasts is to breastfeed and symbolize femininity, they are often considered a prominent element of female beauty. Women who do not find their breasts attractive may feel incomplete, which can affect their self-confidence. In such cases, breast augmentation surgery may be the only solution.

What is Breast Augmentation?

Breast augmentation is the surgical procedure to enhance the size of breasts of women with small breasts using silicone implants or fat injection, and it is commonly referred to as breast enlargement surgery.

Every woman desires to be beautiful, and it is unimaginable for a woman not to want beautiful breasts.

Sometimes, breasts can lose volume and become smaller due to developmental defects in one or both breasts or as a result of weight gain and loss after pregnancy. In such cases, breast augmentation surgery should be considered to achieve larger, fuller, and aesthetically pleasing breasts.

It should be noted that every woman deserves a beautiful pair of breasts. It is possible to achieve beautiful breasts through breast aesthetics.

When is Breast Augmentation Surgery Performed?

Breast augmentation surgery is performed in the following cases:

Women who perceive their breasts as small and want to correct the imbalance in their body proportions, especially the hip-to-breast ratio.
To correct the loss of breast volume after pregnancy (in some cases, breast sagging may also be present, requiring a breast lift procedure as well).
Breast augmentation surgery for achieving symmetrical breast size: Most women have asymmetrical breasts. If the asymmetry is significant, it is necessary to use different-sized implants to achieve equal breast size.
Reconstructing the breast in various situations (e.g., after breast cancer surgery, congenital absence of the breast).
Breast implants are also replaced when they wear out, lose their properties, or cause issues in the area due to medical or cosmetic reasons.

Breast Augmentation for Proportional Body Contours:
Beauty standards have evolved over time. If you look at paintings from a hundred years ago, you will come across images of plump and nude women. Back then, slightly thin women were considered ugly and sickly. In fact, having a zero-size figure, which everyone admires today, was seen as almost dying.

Today, beauty standards and perceptions have changed completely, and it is well known by everyone. However, what I want to focus on is achieving proportional body contours. Due to our genetic predisposition, we have a slightly curvier structure in terms of hips. On the other hand, we cannot say that we are rich in terms of height. In the case of women with small breasts, the phenomenon of feeling unattractive due to the dominance of hips in the shoulder-chest-hip ratio becomes apparent. When they look in the mirror, they may not feel beautiful.

Every woman wants to feel beautiful, and it is her right. It is possible to correct this imbalance and achieve an hourglass figure with a small waist and proportionate hips and shoulders through breast augmentation surgery. Many women undergo breast augmentation surgery to achieve an hourglass figure with appropriately sized breast implants that match their hip and shoulder sizes.

Breast augmentation surgery is not medically necessary but can be considered necessary from a health perspective. If we examine the definition of health, we encounter the phrase “complete well-being physically, mentally, and socially.” In the case of individuals who feel emotionally deficient and socially constrained due to their perception of small breasts, it can be said that the definition of health is not fully met. In this case, breast augmentation surgery can be considered a necessary operation from a health perspective.
